English singer-songwriter Elvis Costello has recently shared a cover of ‘Here, There And Everywhere’ by the legendary British band The Beatles in the honor of the band member Paul McCartney’s 80th birthday.
On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, McCartney turned 80 and musicians from all over the world paid their tribute and wished his a happy birthday with covers, tributes, and beautiful messages.
To pay his tribute to Macca, Costello covered one of McCartney’s best songs, ‘Here, There And Everywhere’ from The Beatles’ iconic studio album, ‘Revolver’. The song had been also covered by Sean Ono Lenon, the son of John Lenon and Yoko Ono for this special occasion.
Sharing the video of his cover, Sean Onno Lennon shared a message that says, ‘A little birdy told me this was one of your fav Beatles tunes’ to Macca. He also wished him a happy birthday and thanked him for all the great music. He further said that McCartney has his and the rest of the world’s undying love and respect.
The Beatles band member Ringo Starr also conveyed his birthday message to McCartney. He wrote on his Twitter, ‘They say it’s your birthday Saturday happy birthday Paul love you man have a great day peace and love Ringo and Barbara love love peace and love.’
Both late John Lenon and George Harrison’s official Twitter accounts have also posted birthday messages for Paul McCartney. On Harrison’s account posted some old footage of Macca shot by Harrison along with the playlist of their collaborations.
Just last Thursday, the world-famous musician joined Springsteen in New Jersey on a stage show. There they sang a duel of ‘I Wanna Be Your Man’ and ‘Glory Days’. He was also joined by Jon Bon Jovi, who sang him Happy Birthday in advance with the help of the 50,000 fans present at the concert.
American singer Carole King, Rolling Stone guitarist Ronnie Wood, Brian Wilson, and more have wished him a happy birthday by sharing their photos with him.
McCartney is going to perform on the Pyramid Stage on Saturday evening, June 25th. The performance will make him the oldest Glastonbury headliner. He is going to be performing alongside many contemporary artists such as Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar, and more. Eilish will become the youngest solo musician to ever headline the festival.
