This year MTV VMAs is going to bring the Hot Girl on stage! Megan Thee Stallion, the American rapper is announced to be hosting this year’s VMAs event on September 11th. The rapper, known for her vibrant persona and charismatic performances is set to take center stage at this high-profile event. Megan has previously showcased her hosting skills on Saturday Night Live and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. She is also a major contender at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards with 5 nominations in her name. Her five major nominations include Best Hip-Hop and Best Collaboration. This time she will be hosting in front of her peers from the music industry. In the past, Megan’s Hit Girl Summer has won her the Best Power Anthem award.

However, the official announcement of Megan hosting the event got mixed reactions from the fans on social media platforms. Many people have voiced their concerns over this situation, referencing her past feud with fellow female rapper Nicki Minaj. One user stirred the pot by referencing Nicki Minaj and her dedicated fan base on social media, the Barbz with a tweet that said, “Megan Thee Stallion hosting the VMAs? Oh, I know the Barbz are talking the MOST s**t!!!” This tweet further sparked the anticipation of a possible feud between the two fandoms, the Barbz and the Hotties, Megan’s fan army. Another comment on Twitter speculated about Megan’s performance and its implications, saying, “Why does no one talk about a monarchy? The MTV Video Music Award will air live on September 11 at 8 p.m. Eastern from the UBS Arena on New York’s Long Island. The show was supposed to be aired on September 10 but moved back a day following the already scheduled U.S. presidential debate. It was recently confirmed by ABC News that both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have agreed to appear on the network’s presidential debate, airing live on September 10th.

Taylor Swift has topped this year’s nomination chart with 10 nominations on her name. Eighth of her nominations are for the recently released ‘Fortnight’ music video with Post Malone, in the categories including Artist of the Year and Best Pop. Post Malone is nominated for nine categories himself and earned his ninth nom for his country hit “I Had Some Help,” featuring Morgan Wallen. This year’s Artist of the Year nominees are Ariana Grande, Bad Bunny, Eminem, Sabrina Carpenter, and SZA. Katy Perry will receive the Video Vanguard Award at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards. She will also take the stage to perform. The other performances of the night include Boone, Carpenter, Chappell Roan, GloRilla, Halsey, Lenny Kravitz, LISA, Rauw Alejandro, Anitta, Karol G, LL COOL J, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello.
