On Tuesday morning Taylor Swift announced that she is going on the road again with her ‘Eras Tour’ which is scheduled to start in March 2023 at U.S Stadiums.
Tuesday morning was indeed a good day for Taylor Swift fans as the singer announced she is going on tour again. She confirmed the long rumored tour and announced that her ‘Eras Tour’ is scheduled to begin in March 2023, which will run into August and it will be a U.S stadium tour. The international dates will be revealed late, keeping international fans waiting.
Along with the schedules and dates, she also announced the supporting and opening acts for her stadium tours which are all about sisterhood. This is not the first time the singer has shown her support towards other talented female artists and taking that one step further, Swift is now giving them a chance to open for her. The opening acts for the U.S leg of her Eras Tour include Phoebe Bridgers, Haim, Paramore, Girl in Red, Beabadoobee, Gracie Abrams, Owenn, Gayle, and Muna.
The tour is set to start on March 18, next year in Glendale, AZ. Many fans are specular=ting that this is a sweet spot for Swift as her last pre-pandemic tour, ‘Reputation’ which was in 2018 started from the same spot. The U.S leg of the Eras Tour will be ending after four and half months with two nights at L.A.’s SoFi Stadium, from August 4th to 5th. This is also the same concert venue that she was set to open in 2020. This was during the “Lover Fest” mini tour which was canceled due to the covid-19 pandemic. Now with this new tour, Swift will be covering 20 cities in the U.S in the course of over 27 concert dates.
Many people had the question in mind that which album will be in support of the tour. The artist has released a total number of four studio albums since her last tour, ‘Reputation’ in 2018. To answer this question, Swift mentioned that the tour will be in support of all of her albums. In social media, while sharing the news, Swift described the tour as “a journey through the musical eras of my career (past and present!)”. The announcement included a graphic image of her looks from different eras of her singing career.
The public “on-sale” will start on Nov. 18 at local time 10 a.m and the Swifties over the internet simply cannot keep calm. This is only for the on-sale tickets and there will be an entire rollout of tickets for credit card members. Just like every other major tour nowadays, Swift is also keeping one major part of her ticket sales for Capital One cards (especially in this case) which will begin on Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. and will continue till 10 p.m. on Nov. 17 at local times. Just like her previous tours, there will be a Ticketmaster Verified program, especially for the fans in order to “ensure tickets get into the hands of fans”. The aspiring fans who will be buying can start registering for the setup now which will be valid till November 9th.

In this modern era of touring, usually, the artists charge a hefty amount for the ‘platinum tickets’ and fans are left with little to no information about the tickets at the beginning. Taking an unusual turn, Swift announced the prices of the tickets beforehand. They start from $49 and go up to $449 and VIP packages are starting from $199 and go up to $899, which is arguably lower than other artists.
As the announcement focused on the U.S leg of the tour, she quickly followed by a promise to announce the international dates soon. So, the international stans of Swift are currently in anticipation mode.
Out of all her eras, the fans are eagerly waiting for her four albums which did not get a chance of touring. Since her “Reputation” tour, Swift has released four new studio albums, “Lover,” “Folklore,” “Evermore” and the recent release “Midnights” along with bonus tracks from her re-recordings of “Red” and “Fearless” albums.
The recent release of “Midnights” left none in doubt that the appetite and hunger for Taylor Swift tour dates are bigger than ever. Upon release, the album has the biggest debut since Adele’s album, “25” with ‘1,578,000 album-equivalent units’. In addition to that, her tracks from ‘Midnights’ also occupied the entire top 10 positions of the Billboard Hot 100. She is the first artist in history to fill the entire top 10 by herself. The no 1 position went to “Anti-Hero” followed by other tracks and her collaboration with Lana Del Rey on “Snow On The Beach” in 4th position. It also became Lana’s top charting song in her career. The album also became Swift’s fifth album to sell over a million copies in the first week.
With the success of her recent album, excitement form her opening acts, and fans being treated with live performances after nearly 5 years, everyone is waiting to see how well the tour does and if it breaks any more records.
