Foo Fighters are back with a thought-provoking and empowering melodic piece ‘Waiting On A War’ from their upcoming album Medicine at Midnight. The music video was released only 18 hours ago and has already garnered more than 350k views on YouTube. The track is an emotional call to the youth of today expressing the fear of an impending war.
Dave Grohl has revealed that the song was inspired by a conversation with his daughter who lived under the impression that there is going to be a war soon. The song was written for not only his daughter but for the entire generation, who ‘deserves a better future,’ without the fear of war. The sublime lyrical illustration of the song offers a mind-bending experience depicting the true horror of war.
Directed by Paola Kudacki, the music video paints a vivid picture of a group of wild and happy teenagers whose lives are jeopardized because of the hunger of the corrupted politicians. The song escalates towards a brighter end with the teenagers fighting for their piece and rights choosing the path of revolution.
Foo Fighters will be dropping their tenth studio album Medicine at Midnight on 5th February 2021. The song ‘Waiting On A War’ was debuted live on Jimmy Kimmel Live! On 14th January; it is also the birthday of the band’s frontman Dave Grohl. The band will perform the song at Joe Bidden’s inauguration concert on January 20th.
