Californian Congressman, Eric Swalwell has recorded a new commercial with one of Taylor Swift’s songs where it is urging people to vote for the Democratic Party. And, for the very first time, Taylor Swift has permitted to use her music in a political advertisement.

The song Only The Young is the perfect fit and is played over footage where it shows protests, police brutality, wildfires, and Donald Trump swearing in the new Supreme Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett.

The advertisement also shows Democratic candidate Joe Biden comforting a young boy and old footage of the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Underneath the video released on YouTube, Swalwell wrote that up there’s the finish line and that the future is worth our fight, and concluded by thanking Taylor Swift for voicing what #OnlyTheYoung can do. He also urged everyone to go and watch the video now.

The song Only The Young got featured in Swift’s 2020 documentary Miss Americana and it addresses the gun violence and US school shootings in the lyrics.

As per the latest reports, earlier this month, Swift has openly endorsed Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris. She had even posted a photo on her Twitter account of her holding a plate of Biden-Harris 2020 cookies and has even shared a new interview that she recorded with the V Magazine stating her reasons for supporting the pair.

In the interview, Taylor was seen saying that the change they need most presently is to elect a president who would recognize that people of every color deserves to feel safe and represented and that women also deserve the right to choose what happens to their bodies, and also that the LGBTQIA+ community deserves to receive acknowledgment and get included in the society.
