Billie Eilish has released a brand new single called, ‘Your Power’ accompanied by a music video. The song is a part of her second album, ‘Happier Than Ever’ that is dropping on July 30th. Released only yesterday, the MV has received more than 8.2 million views on YouTube. It is directed by Billie herself. The song is extremely poignant depicting the mental trauma a minor goes through after getting taken advantage of by adults. The articulacy and the seriousness of the track’s lyrical illustration portray her unbound creativity.
The Grammy award-winning singer said in a statement that she regards the song as one of her favorites that she has ever written. She revealed that she felt very vulnerable to put the song out there as it is very close to her heart. She says that the song is about different situations that all people have witnessed or experienced at some point in their lives. She hopes to inspire the audience to bring a change in their lifestyle. She calls for people to not abuse their power.
Her debut studio album ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ was released in March of 2019. The album became a worldwide hit in just a matter of days. Her upcoming album, ‘Happier Than Ever’ will consist of 16 amazing tracks. Her recent hit singles, ‘my future’ and ‘Therefore I Am’ will also be featured in the album. The album is written by Eilish and her brother FINNEAS. He is the producer of the LP.
The ‘Bad Guy’ singer talks about unhealthy power dynamics between two people. She warns the one with the power to not abuse it to ruin and keep the other one ‘in a cage’. In the music video, Billie Eilish is seen flaunting her latest blonde look in a Simi Valley desert. She is strangled by an anaconda that slowly tightens its grasp on her while she keeps singing. The song ‘Your Power’ is bound to make a powerful impact on the audience across the globe.
