Legendary Guitar player Marty Friedman, best known for his work with the heavy metal band ‘Megadeth’ in the ‘90s, is going to host a special stream on New Year’s day which will kick start at 9.00 pm GMT from Tokyo.
The artist has been residing in Japan for the last 17 years and became a celebrity of his own. He also appeared in over 700 television appearances.
The show will be accompanied by his Japanese band consisting of three members, bass-guitarist Toshiki Oomomo, drummer Chargeee, and guitarist Naoki Morioka.
The performance will take place with a grand arrangement by taking music all the way down from his career and also from the band’s upcoming studio album, named ‘Tokyo Jukebox 3’.
The stream will be featured by a visual performance of motion graphics expert Nobuyuki Hanabusa. The tickets for the upcoming stream will be available soon.
Marty Friedman said in a press release, “Recording an album like this one requires an abnormal amount of being sequestered anyway, so if anything, the pandemic kept me focused a bit more than usual,”.
He expressed his feeling in the current situation and said, “The goal was to come up with music that would be aggressively cathartic to those who were hit harder by the pandemic than I was”.
This talented artist had a busy year as he appeared for a cover of Captain Beyond’s “I Can’t Feel Nothin” along with Ra Diaz, Red Fang, and Revocation. He has also worked with Stephen Brodsky of Mutoid Man and Bill Kelliher of Mastodon for Two Minutes to Late Night’s cover of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘You Make Loving Fun’.
