Opening up about the fallout with Halsey and getting a divorce from her husband, Kelsea Ballerini gets all candid in her upcoming album ‘Subject to Change’. Taking a moment the country music star says “There’s so much more going on in people’s lives than they show you”. Gathering her thoughts she further says “That’s true for me”.

Ballerini, while promoting her new album, she acknowledges that she is fighting some serious battles. This 29-year-old country singer has a charming personality and cheery exterior but not everything looks the exact same on the inside. Proving her words true, the singer gets frank and candid, saying she is handling some battles in her personal life which she portrayed on her album. Calling this one of the most personal pieces of music and art, the singer, on one hand, says “this record that I’m so in love with and so proud of and I’m the busiest I’ve been in years”. Contradicting that, on the other hand, she says even though it sounds pretty and artsy on the records, it is extremely difficult to go through this in real life.

The singer is going through a very public divorce at this moment channeling her inner heartbreak and emotions into ‘Subject to Change’. The album is made with mixed emotions; the singer’s life right now can be described by the album’s theme and vibe, “the feel-good and the contemplative”. This new LP is one of the most mature and refreshing works by the artist and the entire process of making this album is really close to her. Explaining this further, Kelsea says this is “the most upbeat, breezy record” she has ever made. The album is a straight reflection of the artist’s maturation over the past few years, giving us a sneak peek into her darkest corners of life in the tracks ‘High School’ and ‘Homecoming Queen’.

Another one of the most interesting tracks ‘The Other Girl’ includes lyrics like “I was friends with a pop star/I put ‘em on track four/But wish I could take it back/I would have never asked/If I knew we wouldn’t talk anymore” the singer addresses her fall out with pop star Halsey saying she wants to be transparent to her fans.

In this new album, ‘Subject to Change’ the singer addresses everything, from her divorce to her pandemic depression, from her quitting “Twitter” to her sharing the darkest feelings and moments of her life, making this a complete treat to her fans and music lovers.
