Indian-American singer Falguni Shah has bagged one Grammy Award 2022 for her beautiful song ‘A Colourful World’ in the category of best children’s album.
Falguni Shah, the Indian-American singer, globally known as Falu won the Grammy Award 2022 for the Best Children’s Music Album for A Colourful World.
The 64th Grammy Award ceremony was held on 4th April morning in Las Vegas.
The artist has shown her gratitude and happiness by saying ‘I have no words to describe today’s magic. What an honour to perform for the opening number of the GRAMMY Premier Ceremony, and then take home a statue on behalf of all the incredible people who worked on A Colorful World’ in her social media post.
She has also said ‘We are humbled and thank the Recording Academy for this tremendous recognition. THANK YOU’.
Grammys also congratulated Shah on her win. On Twitter, they wrote, ‘Congrats Best Children’s Music Album winner – ‘A Colorful World’ @falumusic’.
This Mumbai-based singer is trained in Hindustani classical music in the Jaipur musical tradition. Not only is that she also trained in Benares style thumri under Kaumudi Munshi and semi-classical music from Uday Mazumdar. Later, she continued to study under the legendary late sarangi artist master Ustad Sultan Khan and Kishory Amonkar.
This artist moved to the US IN 2000 to build her career. From that, she got opportunities to work with Yo-Yo Ma, Philip Glass, Ricky Martin, AR Rahman, and a lot more.
She has also been nominated in 2018 for the album Falu’s Bazaar in the same category. Currently based in New York, the singer sings and writes for her band Falu & Karyshma. With her band, she has performed more than 500 concerts in the United States.
She has also been a feature in the New York Times, Rolling Stone, and Billboard magazine.
