Hanumankind Performs at the Coachella Representing Hip-hop from India

Sooraj Cherukat, better known as Hanumankind the new hip-hop sensation has just performed at the biggest music festival Coachella 2025, making his country India proud. The rapper who took the world by storm with his global hits offered a roaring performance at the festival with the beats of the Chenda Melam drums. The syncopated rhythm of the drums along with the traditional flavors made sure to entice the crowd.

These drums are usually played in the temples at the times of festivals in Kerala, India. It also features the Koodiyattam and Kathakali dance performances that embrace traditional rituals and folklore. However, hearing these spiritual beats in the desert land of Coachella Valley is not something anyone envisioned.

Hanumankind is Texas-bred rapper who was born in Malappuram in India. The American influence in the prominent in his deliverance but the rapper leaves no chance to embrace his home and origin. His performance on April 11 has pushed all the boundaries for Indian hip-hop scene to grow globally. The rapper yelled “Make some noise for my Chenda boys,” at the crowd in Mojave Tent.

The crowd seemed to resonating with the immense power and vibration as the rapper performed his recent hit ‘Run it Up’. He was joined by Kochuveettil Beats, the US-based Malayali are best known for their amazing creations. Dressed in the attire of white shirts and traditional mundus which embraces their culture and heritage that is they are proud of.

‘Run it Up’ is one of the recent bangers by Hanumankind which released last month and gained global attention with its distinctive patters, cadence and cultural embrace. The official music video for the song gained a lot of views on YouTube with its amazing representation of Indian martial arts forms such as Gatka and Kalaripayettu.

The unique fusion of hip-hop flavors along with traditional elements didn’t fail to capture the attention of global audiences. The rapper’s breakthrough hit Big Dawgs is also one of the greatest hip-hop projects that gained many online streams as well as organic views. The music video for this banger features the pit of death with cars and bikes whirling around, another cultural embrace of Indian daredevils.
