Famous KPop boy band Bangtan Boys or BTS announced on Tuesday that they are going on an ‘indefinite hiatus’ to follow individual careers. The news has saddened their billions of fans worldwide. But the band has reassured the fans by saying that they will ‘return someday.’ The South Korean musical group successfully contributes billions of dollars to the country’s economy.

The seven-member band has been a team for nearly nine years. They have made the whole world groove to their music for all those years. They have given the fans assurance that they are not disbanding; the members just want to pursue their solo careers.

The band announced the news on their streamed annual ‘FESTA’ dinner which is a yearly celebration they perform to mark the band’s anniversary.

The YouTube video went on for an hour and in the video band, the 27-year-old member RM said that after their last few singles the band members were extremely exhausted and they found it hard to understand what kind of band they have become.

He explained that he always thought BTS was different from other bands. But according to him the main problem with K-pop and its idol system is that they don’t give the artists time to mature. They expect the artists to produce some types of music throughout their entire career but an artist is a human being and their thoughts and emotions change over the years. RM said, ‘You have to keep producing music and keep doing something… I’ve changed as a human over the past 10 years, so I needed to think and have some alone time.’

Another band member Jimin said that they are always thinking about their fans and want to be remembered by them always. While talking about the hiatus he said, ‘I think now we’re starting to think about what kind of artists we each want to be remembered by our fans.’

Towards the end of the video, many members of the band teared up. They tanked their fans, known as the ‘ARMY’ for supporting them for all those years throughout their career.

The South Korean band BTS has had a massive impact on the young generations. They have shaped the musical preference of listeners coming from all over the world. The fans are now looking forward to the solo releases of the band members.
