“It’s a great honor”: RZA’s Reaction on Rihanna and A$AP Rocky Naming Their Baby after Him

In a recent interview Robert Fitzgerald Diggs, famously known as, RZA said, “A great honor to know that there’s another generation that’s not even of my own household that feels the strength and the inspiration of that name”. He also added, “RZA is only a name, it’s a title, so it’s an honor and I salute her and A$AP and their family. All the blessings in the world from me.”

According to ‘Hip Hop in America: A Regional Guide Vol. 1’, RZA choose to fashion his stage in this way after learning about the importance of the letter ‘Z’ in Islam. While he was diving into Islam he come to know that within the religion it is said that, the last letter in the alphabet refers to the maximum level of human realization. Previously RZA has explained that his name stands for “Ruler, Zi-Zag-Zig, Allah.” And this charmingly translates into “Ruler, Knowledge-Wisdom-Understanding, Allah.”

Earlier this year when ASAP Rocky used Instagram to reveal the name of their first-born son. In that slide show of photos, he wrote a caption stating, “WU TANG IZ 4 DA CHUREN’ HAPPY 1st BIRTHDAY TO MY 1st BORN. RZA.” Before that day, the name of their newborn was still a mystery. Yet, there was one channel that claimed to reveal the name of the boy by looking at the birth certificate of the newborn. According to that particular source, the full name of the boy is RZA Athelston Mayers. Now this extremely good-looking couple is excepting their second child, together.

In the same interview where RZA was present with other members of Wu-Tang Clan, there was a buzzing talk about RZA might win an award for having the most diverse career. As he has not just been an eminent music artist but also has acted, produced, and scored films and also has directed movies. Even he is surprised to see how many places his career has taken him. “I definitely didn’t imagine me being a film director,” he said, “It was something that as an artist, I had to see someone else do and realize that wow, I’m on that same wavelength.” And this “someone else” is Quentin Tarantino. Previously RZA had composed music for ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 1’.
