The pop artist Jenifer Lopez said that she survived in the entertainment business just because her mother made her tough and disciplined from an early age.

World-renowned singer and performer, Jenifer Lopez – a shining star of the music industry, in a recent interview said that it took a lot of her to survive in the entertainment world and it didn’t come to her easily.

She talked about her early life and gave most credits to her mother for her upbringing.

The artist said she was taught about discipline at a very early age and that has helped her immensely.

It has even helped to build a relationship with her mother too.

Jenifer said that Guadalupe Rodríguez made her prepared for the hard times in the music industry.

She was born and grew up in a small house in the Bronx, she didn’t have a lot of privileges when she came into the industry and used to feel like an ‘underdog’.

She even added, ‘I always feel like I was scrapping from the bottom. Always. I always felt like I wasn’t the one that was supposed to be in the room’.

The artist says she came into the field only for her mother. She was the person who introduced all kinds of music to her and built her interest in music.

‘But I’m also able to survive the things I’ve survived in this business because my mom was tough. I don’t think she could realize what she was preparing me for, but she did’ said Jenifer.

She said that it would have been much easier if she belonged from a wealthy family, even though not having the opportunities the artist managed to make a place in the entertainment world.

After working so many years still, the artist feels not like a part of the industry and feels disconnected. Being in the industry and certain clubs she felt like being not a part of it but she had to act like one.

There are many hardships has gone in her career and she has faced all of them. The artist says that her mother built her tough which is why she could deal with those situations.

‘But it hurts to not be included. I don’t know if I will ever be. There is an inner circle, like, ‘We are the great artists.’ And then there’s the pop artists’ said the 52 years old singer-performer.

Jenifer has even talked about her new release in the interview. Her new romcom with Ben Affleck is going to release on 11th February in the theatres, named Marry Me.
