The world is currently watching Taylor Swift in her full glory as she is busy touring all over the world with her ‘Eras Tour’. This week, the pop star announced that she will be extending her international tour dates with newly added stops in Mexico, Asia, and Australia. However, many countries still did not cut, leaving disappointments among Swifties. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is among those Taylor Swift fans whose country got snubbed during this international tour as he publicly reached out to the ‘Shake It Off’ singer on social media. The Canadian PM has urged Swift to consider adding dates in Canada in her ongoing ‘Eras Tour’. Trudeau cheekily left a comment under Taylor’s post saying “don’t make it another cruel summer.”

As Taylor announced the European extended leg of her ‘Eras Tour’, the Canadian Prime Minister could not resist but join. The PM’S comment coincided with Swift’s announcement that states she is bringing her longtime friend Hayley Williams of Paramore for the entire 2024 European leg. Trudeau commented under the post, “It’s me, hi. I know places in Canada would love to have you. So, don’t make it another cruel summer. We hope to see you soon.” Trudeau’s cheeky comment was taken amusingly by Swifties and other users of social media as the PM paid a nod to the lyrics of Swift’s hit single “Anti-hero” when he quoted “It’s me, hi.” He also referenced another single’s title of the ‘Blank Space’ singer when he said, “So, don’t make it another cruel summer.”

The singer launched the U.S leg of her ongoing ‘Eras Tour’ in March which will return to Levi’s Stadium, Santa Clara on July 28-29, for a two-night stop. But even when she announced the added dates for her European leg, not a single date for Canada was included, which led to Trudeau’s comment under her post. While announcing next year’s European leg, Swift posted, “Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour. And I get to travel the world doing shows with @paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m…”

But Trudeau was not the only high-ranking official to urge Swift to come to his country for the ‘Eras Tour’. Previously, Thailand’s pro-democracy party candidate for prime minister Pita Limjaroenrat made a similar request.
