‘Free Larry Hoover’ concert was sponsored by Amazon. Drake and Kanye West had put up performances to the mentioned cause on 10th December. The event was broadcast live on Amazon’s streaming platform.

Larry Hoover is serving several life sentences at ADX Florence, one of the most psychologically punishing correctional facilities in the world. He was convicted in 1997. He ordered a murder in 1973 and he was sentenced to 200years of imprisonment. Each day he spends 23 hours of solitary confinement.

If he is to be freed, he needs a pardon from the President as well as a pardon from the state government he was convicted of. Biden has shown zero interest to give the Presidential Pardon to a gangster-like Hoover.

Though Kanye or Drake didn’t mention Larry Hoover prominently, throughout their performances. A woman pleaded with empathy, ‘Larry Hoover was a man who made a mistake. When one person goes to jail, their entire family goes with them. Take out of your mind everything that you have read.’

This concert sold merchandise priced generously, Balenciaga T-shirts for $100, hoodies for $200, and jeans for $400, displaying the words ‘Free Larry Hoover’.

The TMZ reports said that the budget crossed $10 million, with hundreds of workers has been working round the clock to make that event possible.

Jason White, the choir director redone some of the greatest hits like, ‘Ready or Not, ‘easy on Me’. And just before the arrival of Ye also known as Kanye West and Drake, he played ‘Ultralight Beam’.

As always Drake looks dazzling while approaching the mound. And they hugged each other as a gesture of greeting. He said, ‘When we were walking through the archway it felt surreal, to be on stage with one of my idols as he runs through his catalog’, to convey how grateful he was.

Ye performed his hits one after another, hits from ‘College Dropout’ to ‘808s and Heartbreak’. Ye performed dozen of his songs along with Drake’s ‘Find Your Love’.

While Drake performed some of his recent hits like, ‘No friends in the Industry’, ‘Life is Good’, ‘Way2 sexy’.

After Drake’s brief performance Ye reclaimed the stage presented more songs. No matter what the event ended up serving Hoover and several organizations including Ex-cons for community and Social change, Hustle 2.0, and the Uptown People’s Law Center.

The benefit will be severed to people who are convicted but don’t have enough connections as Larry Hoover does.
