Katy Perry had a Wardrobe malfunction on the sets of American Idol season 20 on Monday, while she was performing the ‘Teenage Dreams’ her pant ripped.
Katy Perry is one of the judges of the American Idol season 20, and on Monday, 28th March while performing the song ‘Teenage Dreams’, her pant ripped from the back. The show aired on.
But the credit that goes to her unyielding and spontaneous approach to the incident is truly honorable. She handled the situation like a boss.
She wore a leopard print top and orange pants to the show, while singing the lines ‘Ima get ur heart racing in my skin-tight jeans’, she went for a dancing move by squatting and a ripping sound came out.
Instead of going backstage, she called for, ‘Can I get some tape?’ making the whole situation funny yet extremely appreciating. Several crew members came running with yellow duct tapes. And within seconds her torn part was concealed with the neon yellow duct tape.
Her fellow judge Luke Bryan was the first one to notice the jesting that the bottom had ‘Busted’. Lionel Richie said, ‘The concert is officially over!’
Later on, Bryan posted on Twitter photoshopping her face onto SpongeBob Squarepants and said, ‘@KatyPerry this is supposed to be a family show.’ And she retweeted the meme.

The fans have also buzzed the whole situation up by saying things like, ‘You took the skin-tight jeans line too seriously bestie’. Another fan said, ‘Epic. Lol, that tape tho.’
While some made comments pointing out that this is not the first time Katy Perry was in this sort of situation, a fan joked, ‘Queen of splitting her pants on television and flashing xo’. While another said, ‘It’s not American Idol without a Lil KP flashing moment.’
Referring to the incident of 2018, she ripped her pants while performing with Colbie Caillat.
She wrote on Twitter, ‘I have good news and bad news today. I won’t be able to live stream #AmericanIdol today but I CAN promise you so pants splitting fun’.
