According to an insider to The Sun, Katy Perry is struggling with the ticket sales for her upcoming Lifetimes Tour. It is not like Katy Perry does not have fans but she is currently facing backlash for working with Dr Luke for her upcoming music project.
Dr Luke has faced legal allegations of drugging, abusing, and making sexual contact with Kesha with or without her consent. Kesha wanted to break her contract with him and reported asking everyone for support. Yet, Katy thought it was a good deal to work with Dr Luke right now for her album 143. Quite naturally, the music lovers are not willing to buy tickets to her concerts now.
With such a situation, Katy has no choice but to turn to her pop rival, Taylor Swift who has just finished a billion dollars worth of gala Eras Tour. Perry is inspired by Swift’s success and she has also attended Swift’s concert to have a firsthand experience. The insider further added that Katy has often reached out to Taylor Swift to seek advice on how to navigate through the live music industry.
According to the insider, Katy Perry is kind of frustrated right now with all the issues that she has to deal with and she wants to turn Lifetime Tour into a big success with big numbers of profit and popularity which would help her make an epic comeback. She is highly inspired by the costume design and interactive lights and visuals of Taylor’s shows and is willing to incorporate them into her concerts as well.
The source further added, “She attended one of Taylor’s concerts last year and left feeling both excited and inspired. She knows she can rely on Taylor for constructive feedback.” Although there is a musical rivalry among the two artists, the source said, “Taylor wants Katy to succeed and have a fantastic tour. Katy appreciates that.”
Previously, there was a strong rivalry between these two veteran pop stars and it turned into a feud which made Taylor create the song ‘Bad Blood’ in 2014. However, they are experienced and friends now, and supporting each other is a part of the industry.
What is still strange is Katy decided to work with Dr Luke while the whole pop industry supported Kesha and her win on the court. Hopefully, Katy Perry’s tickets will be sold.
