Welcome to Kendrick Lamar’s world with a new banger titled, ‘The Heart Part 5’. Premiered on May 9, the banger is creating a huge buzz among hip-hop enthusiasts who look forward to enjoy Lamar’s witty wordplay and philosophy.
This track is the first single after his long-awaited Damn., the fourth studio album for which the rapper has received the Pulitzer Prize for Music. He is the first-ever rapper to receive a prize other than jazz classical music artists.
This latest track ‘The Heart Part 5’ is offering a preview of his forthcoming fifth studio album ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ is all set to release soon. The track has premiered with a wild music video that includes deep fake animation of several persons such as OJ Simpson, Jussie Smollett, Will Smith, Kanye West, Kobe Bryant, and Nipsey Hussle as well.
The verses are masterfully crafted that resemble each persona. It speaks about bipolar disorder when the deep fake turns into West and talks about murder while showing Nipsey Hussle. The rapper has tried to show the united self of the rappers. The banger starts with “I am. All of us.”
The song is deftly produced by the Beach Noise along with the contributions of the unwavering trio Jake Kosich, Johnny Kosich and Matt Schaeffer. Just like Lamar’s other tracks, this track also includes a beautiful musical arrangement with the efforts by Kyle Miller and Bekon. The track is based on the sample music of ‘I Want You’ by Marvin Gaye.
The wild visuals of the music video deserve a special mention as Deep Voodoo has done an amazing job. The main members behind the organization are South Park creators, Matt Stone and Trey Parker.
The title of ‘The Heart Part 5’suggest that it is part of his long series project titled, The Heart. Lamar has already announced the release date of his upcoming project ‘Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers’ through his Oklama site. Lamar previously teased the upcoming project saying, “There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.”
Previously, the rapper was nominated for the eighth Grammy Awards in 2018 for the Black Panther and his works in collaboration with Jay Rock. The track ‘King’s Dead’ won the prize for the Best Rap Performance.
Continuing to spread his aura, Lamar is featured at the Glastonbury Festival 2022 along with many other artists in the headlining slot.
