On the occasion of Valentine’s Day, Lana Del Ray shared a cover of Irving Berlin’s ‘Blue Skies’. The song was written for the new series The New Look. This is from the latest Jack Antonoff soundtrack to the new Apple TV+ series, ‘The New Look’. The song is for the iconic fashion designers as the series navigated the horrifying instances of the Second World War.

In the magical rendition of Lana Del Rey, she has included her signature twist on this Classic release of the song ‘Blue Skies’ shared by Irving Berlin. The track was originally in 1926 and it emerged as a motivating message, singing in melancholic tones about the brighter days when the war will come to an end.

In the mounting up-tempo chorus, Del Rey sings in her individual magical way, “Bluebirds Singing a song/ Nothing but bluebirds All day long/ Never saw the sun shining so bright/ Never saw things going so right/ Noticing the days hurrying by/ When you’re in love, my how they fly.”

Her latest cover ‘Blue Skies’ is followed by her two other classic releases from the era of World War II. Previously, she has shared, ‘White Cliffs Of Dover’ and ‘Now Is the Hour’. ‘White Cliffs Of Dover’ is a track by Vera Lynn and is another inspiring hymn that talks about a better tomorrow. And the other Bing Crosby and Margaret Whiting hit from 1948, ‘Now Is the Hour’ also known as ‘Po Atarau’, the iconic farewell song to the Māori soldiers going to the First World War.

This is the subsequent time Del Ray has joined allegiances with Jack Antonoff in the last few weeks. At the beginning of this month, the ‘Young and Beautiful’ singer revealed she has been working on a new country album named, ‘Lasso’ with this producer. During this latest Grammy’s installment, she was seen with the Bleachers frontman.

In 2024, she acquired 5 Grammy Nominations for her impressively heartfelt 2023 released album ‘Did You Know That There’s a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd’. But she didn’t win in any of the categories she was nominated for. Apart from that she will also release an LP in the latter half of this year. She also has headlined in several music festivals including, Primavera Sound, The National, Hangout Festival, and Coachella.
