‘Lifetimes’ Music Video Lands Katy Perry In Hot Waters

The singer of ‘Woman’s World’, Katy Perry is being investigated for her new music video of ‘Lifetimes’. The first single of this songstress had already stirred up some controversy in the music industry, and the video of the second single from the album 143 is getting some after-effects from the start. The singer has been accused of damaging very protective and sensitive ecologically significant dunes which are part of Ses Salines Natural Park. It is a protected zone in the Pityusic Islands which serves as a crucial nesting ground for the migratory birds.

These allegations revolve around the shooting of her latest single’s video where she is seen to be frolicking on the protected dunes. Although the Environment Department of Balearic Islands hasaccused Katy Perry’s production company We Own The City offailing to secure proper permits before the start of the shoot and the Government of Balearic Islands has released a statement stating that the preliminary investigation has been launched, the statement clarifies that the case is not considered to be ‘a crime against the environment’.

In response to this statement and the allegations, a spokesperson from Capitol Records has said, ‘The local video production company assured us that all necessary permits for the video were secure, we have since learned that one permit was in process, although we were given verbal authority to go ahead.’ They added, ‘Our local crew on July 22 applied for a permit for this specific location with the Directorate-General for Coasts and Coastline.’ There is a further clarification on their part saying that their local crew had applied for a permit and got ‘verbal’ approval before shooting.

While the video shows Katy Perry enjoying a beachy paradise while cave-dancing, tossing pizza on a DJ set, and riding motorcycles, this party-vibe video has become the reason to be a little disheartened for the singer due to these allegations. This enigmatic singer with her first track from the album 143 has already created some controversies which she later addressed in a very friendly manner saying that the video of ‘Woman’s World’ was a satirical depiction that many of the audience failed to understand and ended up taking it the wrong way. The latest video getting kind of negative attention and controversy may lead to some repercussions for the upcoming tracks by the diva, many speculate.
