Head Trauma Events is holding a hip-hop show packed full of hip-hop hustlers from Florida, Texas, and Tennessee on October 12th at the Memphis Music Room.
(DailyMusicRoll Editorial):- Memphis, Tennessee Oct 3, 2023 (Issuewire.com) – Memphis has had its share of event cancellations lately, but that isn’t stopping Head Trauma Events from throwing the biggest rap show the city has ever seen, centered around one theme that defines the region – the hustle. In a city where the crime rate keeps many of the city’s most popular artists and nationally recognized performers away, Holly and Wes Upchurch were able to pack the Hustle Hoedown full of both established and rising artists. The Hustle He is going down, with Bezz Believe from Florida, #2STONED from Texas, and Memphis’ own Lil Wyte.
Wyte is releasing new music this same month, so it only makes sense that he’d want to debut it in his hometown. It’s been quite some time since he’s played in the city and this event marks his first appearance at the Memphis Music Room, the city’s premier independent music venue (formerly the Al Chymia Shrine Temple). He’ll co-headline with the Hustle God, Bezz Believe who has rapidly risen to prominence in the rap scenes. Both artists are raking in tens of millions of views on YouTube for their latest music.

This all-ages event will only set concertgoers back $35, which is almost unheard of these days. It’s important to the Head Trauma team that their shows are accessible to the audience. “One of the biggest reasons for doing these events is to bring the community together. I think we need that,” Wes says.
His wife, Holly hopes that the artists chosen for this lineup will resonate with audiences. She specifically selected artists who experienced struggles and obstacles in their own lives and came out on top. It’s that kind of inspiration that the city needs. Although the event company doesn’t promote artists who glorify violence, they are taking extra security precautions to ensure that the event goes off without any incidents. Music speaks to the soul, to the underground and often forgotten communities, connecting us with others through a shared experience. “None of us are truly alone,” Holly says.
The Hustle Hoedown is happening Thursday, October 12 at 8 PM at the Memphis Music Room. Tickets are available through the HeadTrauma.Events website.
Ticketholders can expect to see, Florida rapper Bezz Believe, who is a powerful and talented rapper who launched himself into the limelight with the hit single “Herculeez”, which featured in Dwayne Johnson’s 2014 blockbuster movie, Hercules. He is best known for his collaborations with Kevin Gates, “Disappear” and “Fade Away”, which have garnered 13 Million and 11 Million views on YouTube, respectfully. He is the real deal, who’s recorded songs with artists like Gucci Mane and Struggle and who’s opened the stage for big-name rappers, like Drake and Big Sean. He’s not afraid to go against the status quo, with songs like Country Trapper, Supa Cracka, and, more recently, Conservative.
They’ll also catch Lil Wyte, an artist who helped define Memphis Rap. He is one of the founding members of Hypnotize Camp Posse, consisting of DJ Paul and Juicy J of Three 6 Mafia fame who rose to fame in 2001 with his debut album Doubt Me Now. The album, produced by Three 6 Mafia and featuring appearances by Project Pat and Juicy J, was a critical and commercial success and spawned the singles “My Smokin’ Song” and “Phinally Phamous”. In the years following his debut album, Lil Wyte released several more albums and mixtapes, including The Bad Influence and I Got This on Lock. Lil Wyte is considered to be one of the most influential rappers from Memphis. He has been credited with helping to popularize the Memphis sound of rap music.
They’ll be joined by additional artists from California, Memphis, and Nashville at the Hustle Hoedown. This independently organized one-night event will be one for the record books as it’s happening apart from any tour. The venue’s limited capacity means an intimate performance that is unlike festival appearances or arena shows, but it also means tickets are expected to sell out fast.
