American event promoting and venue operating company Live Nation has taken up a new policy for concert and festival attendance due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. The company has decided that all the artists, concertgoers, and crew members must be fully vaccinated or be Covid-19 negative to attend their music festivals that are about to begin from October 4th. They must provide proof of the vaccination or Coronavirus negative test report to enter the venues. The company also aims to vaccinate its workers by October 4th. They explained that the new rule will be enforced where it is permitted by the law.

The CEO of the company, Michael Rapino described the vaccine as the ticket back to the concerts. He said they will be following the model they developed for Lollapalooza. The musicians, visitors, and employees will need to abide by the rules all over the US.

In an earlier policy, the artists were allowed to require the vaccinations of the audience. After their new updated policy, they made an announcement that this year’s Lollapalooza was not a super spreader. The commissioner of the Chicago Department of Public Health, Dr. Allison Arwady said that they have tracked a total of 203 Covid-19 positive cases that were caused by the Lollapalooza event so far. There are no reports of hospitalization or death among the cases. Nearly 385k people attended the show and the infection rate is quite low compared to the vast number of attendance.

Another concert promoting company AEG also made an announcement that they will also mandate the audience and the venue employees to produce proof of vaccination or Covid-19 negative report at all of their shows. It will be enforced from October 1st. They will be implementing the new rule in the states where it is required by the law from October 1st.

Many individual artists have also made some rules regarding vaccination and producing Covid-19 negative test results for tours and festivals recently. Some of them are Japanese Breakfast, Bleachers, Jason Isbell, more.
