Madonna Shares A Photo With Her Dad At Detroit Concert

Madonna has made a buzz with her latest “Celebration” world tour with someone from her beloved family attending the show. The ‘Vogue’ popstar shared a photo on her Instagram stories on Wednesday where fans can see her with her father Silvio Ciccone who is currently 92 years old. Mr. Ciccone attended her recent concert in Detroit, Michigan.

Madonna is also a Michigan native and performing in her hometown was a different experience for her. In the beautiful father-daughter picture, the singer could be seen with her arms around her father with the note “I love you Dad” along with blue hearts.

The show on Monday night in Detroit was special as Madonna also shared a few speaking moments amidst her spectacular performance. The pop icon asked whether Detroit is “proud” of her because she hopes so. She stated, “Because I care about what you think, and I want you to be proud of me.” She mentioned, “People don’t understand how cool you have to be to be from Detroit,” and also thanked her hometown “for pushing me out in the right direction”.

Talking about her beloved father, the superstar said, “he taught me the meaning of hard work. He taught me the importance of earning your way through life. He taught me that life is not a day at the beach and that you better be prepared to work hard to get somewhere in life. And I thank you for that, Dad.” She further added, “And if you think I’m tough, and if you think I’m a warrior or you think I’m a beast or a superhero, it’s because of my father.”

Madonna got her fans more excited by revealing the images of her latest and exclusive collaboration with Jean Paul Gaultier who is well revered for designing some of the signature garments of Material Girl. The new collab brings a t-shirt that celebrates Madonna’s iconic gold corset from her 1990’s “Blonde Ambition” tour. It goes without saying that the iconic cone-shaped bra is there.

Through an Instagram post, Madonna shared that all the proceeds gained from the t-shirts will be utilized in her charity Raising Malawi. It will “help provide critical medical interventions to orphans and vulnerable children at the Mercy James Center for Pediatric Surgery and Intensive Care” in Malawi, Africa. The next date of the “Celebration” tour takes place on Thursday in Montreal along with additional dates in Canada as well as other places in the US through April. The tour will end with five shows in Mexico City.
