(DailyMusicRole Editorial):- New South Wales, Australia May 10, 2021 (Issuewire.com) – The power of music leaves no stone unturned. It has reached Pakistani-born singer-songwriter and music producer Mahmood Khan at a very young age. With 35 years of experience, he is considered one of the best world music artists of this decade. He sold more than 6 million records of his debut solo album with the greatest Pakistani musician Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. He has released a chart-topping new EP called, ‘Imaginary Friend’, which has topped the USA iTunes jazz list already. The 5-track EP features inexplicable depth and rhythmic dexterity that separates it from contemporary creations. The calm and collected ambiance of the EP offers a mesmerizing serenity to the listeners.
The EP debuted on the USA iTunes Jazz chart at number 5 and swiftly reached the number 1 spot. It is the first time an Australian or Pakistani musician has achieved this height. Topping charts is not a new thing for Mahmood Khan. 6 of his songs have been placed on the iTunes USA top 100 during April 2021. Collaborating with the Willoughby Symphony Orchestra, he scored number 1 on iTunes in the USA, Australia, Mexico, UK, France, Turkey, and Switzerland. His hit project ‘Tere Baghair’ was the first-ever foreign-language album on the USA and Australian iTunes charts.
Mahmood Khan is currently working with the production house Beat Viral, where he was inspired to create the ethereal symphonies of his latest EP ‘Imaginary Friend’. He is the first Asian-born musician to reach the top position on the Billboard charts in the classical genre. He is also the only Asian artist who recorded a live album at Sydney Opera House. He was granted Australian citizenship by the government for his exemplary contribution to the Australian and world music industry. He was also declared a National Asset in his native land Pakistan in 2020.
Recently, the world-famous musician and filmmaker filed a case against Bollywood producer Firoz Nadiadwala for illegally stealing his hit song ‘Teri Yaad’ for their film, ‘Kartoos’. The song was released in 1997, recorded with the legendary Pakistani musician Late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. It was part of his solo album, ‘Only One’ released in the United States. The song was a blockbuster at that time. Recently Mr. Khan found out that the entire song including its title had been blatantly copied and reproduced in the 1999 Bollywood film, ‘Kartoos’. He has filed a case against the producer and the music director of the movies and seeks $4 million in damage from them.
