Neil Young threatens to remove his whole musical works from Spotify after he came across the false information shared by American podcaster as well as comedian Joe Rogan in his podcast.

He wrote, ‘I am doing this because Spotify spreading fake information about vaccines- potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them’.

He asked, ‘Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule.’

He and his team are ready to remove all of his music from this platform if Spotify doesn’t bar the misinformation of Joe Rogan.

He said, ‘I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform’. He goes further, ‘they can have (Joe) Rogan or Young. Not both.’

Neil is referring to the Steady stream of misinformation about the vaccine that Joe Rogan has included in his The Joe Rogan Experience. Last month many physicians, 270 doctors, and science educators signed an open letter asking Spotify to stop streaming Rogan’s pointless claims.

The letter said, ‘with an essential 11 million listeners per episode, JRE which is hosted exclusively on Spotify is the world’s largest podcast and has tremendous influence’. It continued, ‘Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, though the company presently has no misinformation policy.’

Young had already removed some of his music from Spotify a few years back as he thought that the sound quality and services are not is not good enough. But he changed his mind afterward.

He said in 2019, ‘That’s where people get music,’ he referred to Spotify. He goes further like this, ‘I want people to hear my music no matter what they have to get through to do it. I’m just trying to make it so they hear a lot more and enjoy it a lot more, but sell it for the same price because music is music.’

When the company was asked to respond about deleting Young’s music, they said, ‘it’s still available but it is smart to listen to Zuma and Rust Never Sleeps while you still can. They could disappear any moment.’
