The list of nominees features big names from Doja Cat to Justin Bieber. It is set to take place in New Jersey, as all the winners will be revealed on August 28.
Once more, it’s time to honor the best music video=s of the year. The nominees for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, or VMAs, include some of the best works from the previous year.
On Tuesday, July 26, the nominees for the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards were revealed. With seven nominations each, Lil Nas X, Jack Harlow, and Kendrick Lamar took the lead. Doja Cat and Harry Styles were right behind them with six nominations each for their incredible music.
This year’s nominees for the best new artist also include Drake, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and The Weeknd.
There will be 26 first-time nominees for the awards, including Kacey Musgraves, Måneskin, and GAYLE with two nominations each. On the other hand, Baby Keem is in another world with four nominations.
This year’s VMAs mark the first time the ceremony has been held in New Jersey since its illustrious 2019 production.

This year’s show’s host has not yet been made public. The winners will be revealed live on-air on MTV on August 28 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
22 gender-neutral categories, including artist of the year, video of the year, best collaboration, and two newly-launched categories of best Metaverse performance and best longform video, are open to fans from all over the world to participate in and cast votes for their favorite artists.
