Olivia Rodrigo Got the Catalyst of Change Award at Planned Parenthood Award

Olivia Rodrigo, the globally renowned pop music artist has been advocating reproductive rights for every girl and woman by using her platform. This singer is not only entertaining audiences with her singing skills but is also willing to fight for all as well. Olivia has been conducting many concerts throughout her career. Most of the audience are women in her shows. However, each time she worries about those women who leave the venue after watching her show. Lack of safety for women is the reason why she paid so much attention to this matter.

Previously, she has talked a lot about the oppressive policies that need to be changed. Through her concerts, she has been raising funds for abortion funds. Each day there are many cases where such things come to be seen. And for that reason, she is willing to take every measurement for reproductive rights for women. Recently, she has been a part of the Planned Parenthood of Greater New York’s Spring Into Action Gala. For her initiative, she has been honored with the 2025 Catalyst of Change award.

As she received the award for the Catalyst of Change, she stated ‘When I play shows, I look out at crowds filled with young girls and the bond I feel with them is profound… I often wonder, ‘What happens to those girls when they leave those venues? What are their dreams? What kind of world are they returning to?’’

Along with Olivia, there was Amanda Zurawski at the event. In 2023, Amanda nearly died due to pregnancy complications. And the healthcare authority denied her abortion in that state. For that reason, she has sued her hometown, Texas, and started putting in efforts in this matter, so that no other women have to go through this. With her great movement, Amanda has received recognition for the Champion of Change award.

Lily Allen has also been at the event and said ‘Olivia, my love, you’re the realest’. She even suggested Olivia not ‘[straying] from her values to make powerful people comfortable.” “You use your platform because you actually give a s–t about reproductive freedom and justice. And in this world, genuinely giving a s–t is revolutionary’.
