The solo project of British singer Olly Alexander, Years & Years is all set to release a brand-new album, ‘Night Call’ next month. He had announced the date of the release on September 2021. It will be released on January 7th on Polydor Records. He has already released a new track from the album named, ‘Crave’ along with its brilliant music video. The video features Omari Douglas and the cast of ‘It’s A Sin’ Nathaniel Hall, Omari Douglas, and David Carlisle. The show is already breaking records and it has won the word for Best New Drama at the National Television Awards in September. The year 2021 has been a good one for Olly with the release of his first single, ‘Starstruck’, its new version with Kylie Minogue, and an amazing performance of ‘It’s A Sin’ with Elton John at the Brit Awards.
‘Crave’ is a bold dance number that deals with submission and embracing it. While talking about the song, Olly said, ‘is a playful way of inhabiting the deranged sexual energy I’ve always wanted. In the past, I felt like I’ve been dominated by toxic relationships, and I felt like it would be fun to turn it on its head.’ The track is opulent with unconventional rhythmic and lyrical arrangements that push the limits of the mainstream music scene.
The upcoming album, ‘Night Call’ is going to be a thrilling new experience for Olly’s fans. He has used iconic figures like Sylvester as it is French House and the mermaid of a muse that entices to their deaths at the center of the record. The album is for those searching for love and in the end finding strength in themselves. His character in ‘It’s A Sin’, Ritchie has deeply influenced his songwriting in the album. The songs are designed to blur the line between reality and fantasy with a precise exploration of queer life. The album is going to be extremely hedonistic and fun.
With two hugely successful albums under his belt, Years & Years is on his way to becoming one of the most popular pop artists in the world. Olly Alexander has 5 Brit Award nominations as Years & Years. He has gained more than 404 million streams globally. He also plays homecoming shows at London’s Wembley Arenas and O2. His next album, ‘Night Call’ is said to be his most indispensable Years & Years album to date.
