Kelly Clarkson, the globally famous singer-songwriter is set to make a new record with her upcoming album ‘Chemistry’, all set to be released on June 23rd, 2023.
American singer-songwriter Kelly Clarkson is coming out with her tenth studio album in June. On the 23rd of June, 2023, the singer will be releasing, ‘Chemistry’, her tenth one through Atlantic Records. On this album, Kelly is teaming up with her long-term collaborators Jason Halbert and Jesse Shatkin along with Erick Serna and Rachel Orscher as producers. ‘Chemistry’, the 14-track album will be covering her seven-year marriage to Brandon Blackstock, which came to an end just a few months into the pandemic. This subsequently made her the spotlight in numerous headlines as she was going through a very public divorce. Four singles of the album are already out, titled ‘skip this part’, ‘mine’, ‘high road’, and ‘me’.
The American Idol judge and talk show host has announced the news of her upcoming album ‘Chemistry’ saying in a video posted to Instagram that it has been in the works for “close to three years.” “This album is definitely the arc of an entire relationship, and a whole relationship shouldn’t be just brought down to one thing,” she explained. “So there’s the good, the bad, the ugly thing kinda going on in it.”

She first performed her single ‘Mine’ in April on the stage of her Emmy-winning daytime talk show. There she admitted that she “went through a lot” and was “angry and sad” throughout the album-making process and writing 14 tracks that were finalized for her 10th studio album. However, Kelly states that she is in a much better place and this album is not just about her divorce but contains the whole emotions she felt throughout the relationship. Surely, ‘Chemistry’ was born out of anger and pain, but she reminded the audience that there were happy moments as well, and the happiness balances the heartbreak. “This album takes you down every path that chemistry could lead you down,” she said.
The songwriting on Chemistry may feel familiar to you if you have heard Adele’s 30 or Kacey Musgraves’ Star-Crossed, both of which were released in 2021 and maintained the theme of their Divorce. But the ‘Since U Been Gone’ singer is not afraid of the comparisons as all of her songs were written before the albums came out. She also stated, “No matter what album you’re listening to, it is kind of nice to have these people that went through stuff that other people are going through, and you just don’t feel alone in it.” Along with the album, the artist is also set to begin her “chemistry…an intimate night with Kelly Clarkson”, a Las Vegas residency on July 28 at Bakkt Theater.
