The current coach of the Voice and the former One Direction member, Niall Horan is coming up with his third studio album that is entitled ‘The Show’ which will be released on 9th June 2023. The album was born in lockdown, taking inspiration from love and life, after its predecessor, ‘Heartbreak Weather’ which was released in March 2020. The Irish singer-songwriter is known for being a part of the world-famous boy band ‘One Direction’ and started his long musical journey by auditioning for The X Factor in 2010. Just like every other person in the world, the pandemic has hugely impacted Niall and he got time for the first time in over 10 years to just sit and take it all in. This is what birthed the new album as he said he could, “Sit still for the first time in probably 10 years”. After coming up with the title track of ‘The Show’, Horan came up with the rest of the records as he said the writing of the title track is what “kickstarted” the process of making and producing this third studio album.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Horan explained “The chorus is saying we should be grateful for what we have”. He further stated, “I think during the pandemic, we lost a little bit of that control we like to have as humans — then that just provoked so many bigger thoughts in my head. It opened a stream of ideas.” However despite several speculations by fans, none of those bigger thoughts are inspired by any heartbreaks. According to Horan, “If you’re coming for a heartbreak love song, I don’t think you’ll get it here.” This is something that Horan says is a major difference between his latest “more mature” work and his previous productions.
Horan informed in an interview that the album is going to have 10 tracks with the hope that “when people get to 10 they want to go back to the top and listen to the first one again”. Out of the 10 tracks, Niall says his favorites are “You Could Start a Cult.” or “The Show” Probably “The Show”. At the same time, the singer also announced “The Show: Live on Tour” will be a 50-day trek across Europe, North America, Australia, and New Zealand that will be taking place from February to July of next year. So get yourself ready for another album by Niall Horan and stay tuned on 9th June.
