Sabrina Carpenter just dropped a teaser for her upcoming new music video of her third single from the forthcoming album. ‘Taste’ features Jenna Ortega and Sabrina herself will be out on August 23. Her upcoming album ‘Short n’ Sweet’ is also due August 23rd. Before releasing ‘Taste’ Carpenter also released ‘Espresso’ and ‘Please Please Please’, the latter becoming no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The singer took to social media to share the teaser of this new upcoming music video, which is coming out this Friday. For the single, Carpenter is credited as one of the songwriters alongside Julia Michaels and Amy Allen. Ian Kirkpatrick and John Ryan have produced the track.

In the 16-second preview of ‘Taste’ that Sabrina shared on her social media platforms, she was seen holding a knife from a bed where viewers can see nothing but weapons. Carpenter was then seen entering the foyer of a huge mansion and heading straight up to the bathroom. It is where the viewers can see her finding the Wednesday actress and also her fellow Disney Channel alum making out with a man under the shower. Carpenter was visibly enraged and charged at Ortega with a knife in her hand as fear took over the actress.

Dave Meyers directed the msuic video for ‘Taste’ which is a visible nod to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1960 horror film Psycho. “I’ve been known to share,” Carpenter sings on the track. In an interview with Paper Magazine, the singer shared the lyrics of ‘Taste’ including “You’ll just have to taste me when he’s kissing you.” In the same interview, Carpenter told Paper Magazine about her songwriting process and her interest in writing about taboo topics. “I’ll write any song,” the 25-year old ‘Please Please Please’ singer said when asked about the song’s racy and rigid subject matter. “It doesn’t mean I’ll put it out, but I’ll write it. I think the series of unfortunate events I’ve encountered in relationships are no secret to people who know me or think they know me.”

The tracklist for ‘Short n’ Sweet’ is out now and includes songs such as ‘Good Graces’, ‘Sharpest Tools’, ‘Coincidence’, ‘Bed Chem’, ‘Dumb & Poetic’, ‘Slim Pickins’, ‘Juno’, ‘Lie to Girls’, and ‘Don’t Smile’. Naturally, the fans are super excited as they will get both the new album and the new music vidoe from the artist and that is reflected in the comment section of the teaser. One user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote, “Oh I knew this was Jenna Ortega 😭😭😭” while another one commented, “already got the autoplay ready. we know”. Other fans commented, “WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!!!”, “oh you’re 3/3 this era… i might have to add to my stan list”, “Another #1 smash hit incoming”, “enna ortega cameo wtf oh this finna eat”, “WE WILL ALL BE STREAMING”, “MUSIC VIDEO OF THE YEAR COMING”, etc. After the album’s release, Carpenter plans on going on a tour through North America in support of her LP.
