Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Spotify Podcast Is Coming to an End

Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’s deal with Spotify podcast is coming to an end. Archewell Audio podcast and Spotify came together with an agreement in 2020 to create an exclusive podcast. According to the report, it was a multimillion-dollar deal worth $20 million. But now, both parties have come to a mutual agreement on ending the podcast.

It was one of the most worldwide famous podcasts till the date. It was a podcast where people did discussions with influential women. But Thursday, both the companies made their statement by saying ‘Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together’.

According to many sources, it is coming to know that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are trying to move away from Spotify because they are finding a new place for their podcast. Another fact coming to know is that Spotify expected more podcasts from them. But they have given only one series in three years. It is making a huge impact on the deal eventually.

‘Archetypes’ is a podcast made by Markle is a unique kind of podcast, where she has broken the stereotypical things people thought of women. It premiered in August 2022 and became the number 1 podcast in many countries. They came up with the notion of ‘producing programming that uplifts and entertains audiences around the world’ and ‘spotlights diverse perspectives and voices’ along with ‘builds community through shared experience, narratives and values’.

It is not the first time when they are coming to an end with a podcast. Before this, one year ago, the podcast of Barrack Obama and Michelle Obama also ended their podcast. Obama’s didn’t want to keep the podcast bound to only Spotify. They wanted to reach out to the widest audiences but with the contract with Spotify, it wasn’t being possible for them. That is why, later they moved their whole podcast to Amazon Audible.

As everyone knows that Harry and Meghan have stepped back from their royal life, and for that reason they are trying to focus on media ventures to make more money. It is also coming to know that, they are also going to produce a docuseries on his autobiography about the relationship with Britain’s royal family. This docuseries will be available on Netflix and they will provide further information about it in the future.
