Prince William admitted his love for dance music on Wednesday. The Prince also said that his love for club music dates back all the way to his teen years.

The Duke of Cambridge showed his love of party music when he presented DJ Simon Mayo with an MBE (Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for his services to the radio at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

Prince William, 39, admitted to being a fan of dance music since he was a teenager, citing tracks like Faithless’ “Insomnia” from 1995 and Spiller’s “Groovejet” with Sophie Ellis-Bextor from 2000 as examples.

“So this happened. Prince William did the pinning. A class act! We talked about Radio 1 and how he loved Faithless/Insomnia and Spiller/Groovejet I suggested that he was clearly a bit of a clubber…” Mayo tweeted about it. “He said maybe a secret clubber.”

The DJ also claimed that he advertised the show “Drivetime” on Greatest Hits Radio and that he “suggested he was just the right age to be joining us…”

London deejay Sam Young told PEOPLE in the run-up to William and Kate Middleton’s 2011 royal wedding that William like “house, hip hop, and R&B,” while Kate “seems to like a bit of rock.”

Prince William has spoken about how his passion for music has already been handed down to his three children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, during his recent tour with Kate Middleton in Belize.

In a December episode of Apple Fitness+’s Time to Walk series, Prince William said, “Most mornings there’s a massive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played in the morning. And I have to, now, basically prioritize that one day someone does this one, and another day it’s someone else’s turn. So George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the, the clamor for the music.”

Shakira’s “Waka Waka” is currently one of his children’s favorite songs, according to Prince William.

Prince William chose “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC as one of his songs.

Prince William said, “There’s nothing better than, on a Monday morning, when you’re a bit bleary-eyed after the weekend and trying to get yourself back into the grind of the week, listening to AC/DC, ‘Thunderstruck.”
