Rihanna is the new face of Dior perfume. The 36-year-old singer and entrepreneur was announced as the face of J’Adore Fragrance by Dior on Sunday. The announcement came in a dazzling short film, directed by Steven Klein, featuring Rihanna who is replacing the brand’s longtime spokeswoman Charlize Theron. Dior’s campaign was posted on different social media platforms. “Powerful, dazzling, and inspiring, Rihanna embodies the triumphant and free-spirited femininity of J’adore through the lens of Steven Klein,” the company’s YouTube campaign reads. “J’adore and Rihanna, a new golden dream begins.”

The minute-long short film was also set to the tune of the musician’s hit ‘Love on the Brain’ and finds RiRi gracing the halls of the Palace of Versailles in France. She was also seen donning a breathtaking sparkly golden gown. In the visual, Rihanna was seen seemingly walking on water with heels. “Your dreams, make them real,” the ‘Diamond’ singer says into the camera, at the end of the short film. Rihanna was announced as the face of Dior’s J’Adore Perfume earlier this summer. She is also a superstar with a long relationship with the brand. She was spotted at a number of fashion shows by Dior, most recently at the Paris Fashion Week 2024. During the singer’s first pregnancy, RiRi also became Dior’s first black woman ambassador. Now she has again become the first black woman to be the face of Dior’s J’Adore Perfume.

“For over two decades, the fragrance has been a brilliant and faithful companion for women the world over, the perfume of a strong, liberated, and independent woman, resonating perfectly with Rihanna’s personal story,” said LVMH, owner of Dior, at the time. “This scent, that I have known and loved for so long, means so much to women,” the singer said in the same press release. “It is more than a perfume, it is a companion and a reference. I am especially touched to join this adventure and to contribute to it through my world, my story, my roots, as well as my creativity and my own femininity.”

On Twitter, the news created quite a frenzy and fans were nothing short of excited. The fans under a post said, “What can I say? She’s beautiful.”, “Absolutely, Rihanna is breaking barriers and building an incredible legacy, not just in music, but also in fashion and beauty!”, “Well this is great and sad because it took tolong . Black women and men been buying Dior products and accessories for decades. I’m glad Riri broke the ceiling down.”, “Rih and Queen Caribbean voices sound very similar bc when I first heard the commercial I was like whoa they are sisters bc they sound alike when their accent comes out. I’m so proud of both ladies. “It look easy don’t it!” in the words of Queen “It look easy don’t it!”, etc.
