Rihanna Says That New Music Should Be “Amazing” And “Show Growth”

Fenty Beauty recently had its one Met Gala for the launch of its Soft’lit Foundation in Los Angeles on Friday (April 26). Founder, CEO, and Owner of Fenty Beauty, Rihanna talked about makeup, motherhood, and of course, music on the carpet celebrating what she says is “a new era in foundation for the brand.” The businesswoman and singer-songwriter talked excitedly about the new product and its “soft, luminescent finish, like a nice, glowy, natural-skin look”, inspired by what seems like a few very lovely golden hours in Barbados. But she also gave her fans and the whole world a music update!

The ‘Lift Me Up‘ singer seems to be aware that everyone has long been eagerly waiting for R9. This would be the most long-awaited follow-up of her 2016 release ‘Anti’. In an interview with Extra, Riri also humored some questions about her next album at Friday’s red carpet event. To put it briefly, Rihanna plans to make this new album worth the wait. “It’s gonna be amazing,” Rihanna said about what is to come from her as a musician. “It has to be — that is the only reason it’s not out yet. If I’m not feeling it and I’m not feeling like it represents the evolution, the time I spent away …There should be a show of growth, right?” “I want to play, and I feel like music is a playground, and I want to have fun with it and show truly where I am at,” the beauty mogul said, adding that she only now intends to collaborate with another artist if it’s “very intentional. I’ll know when I have the record.”

Just about a week and a half before, the ‘Work’ singer said, “I already got stuff that I feel like I could make hits out of.” She also referred to her work in progress as “so good.”

While the update about Rihanna‘s master plan on new music stays hidden, she shared her plans to attend the Met Gala, revealing she has two options for her dress for the night right now, but yeah, do not expect anything too bold from her this time. “I’m actually just keeping it real simple this year,” says Rihanna of what she has got in mind for the prestigious event. “Very simple. I think it’s gonna come to what my makeup and what my hair is going to do. We wanna play with that, but I have no idea what I’m gonna do with that.” “Very simple-ish, compared to everything I’ve ever done,” Rihanna said of her idea to come in a very understated look. “I’m showing up for dinner! Shout out to Anna Wintour.”
