Rita Ora Talks About Upcoming Album and Latest Single ‘Ask & You Shall Receive’

Rita Ora recently talked about her latest single ‘Ask & You Shall Receive‘, her upcoming album, and working with Brandy along with other topics in a recent interview with Billboard. The artist has just come up with a single, the first in a long time, and released it back in May. She had Raye as a co-writer on the single, accompanied by a music video directed by DanoCerny. In this interview with Billboard,Ora talks about how her upcoming album will be completely different than her previous work, ‘You & I’. She also spoke about her process of preparing herself to play the Queen of Hearts in ‘Descendants: The Rise of Red’ and even working with Brandy and more.

She introduced herself by saying, “He, for fun, made like a music video on AI where like you just sit and type in what you want with your favorite song. And he was like, Why do you guys spend so much money on music videos? You can just do this now. I’m like don’t. Hey, I’m Rita Ora and you’re watching Billboard News.” when asked about her latest single ‘Ask & You Shall Receive’, Ora replied, “Yes, the best mantra in my opinion.”

When she was asked to elaborate on how she came up with the mantra and where she wanted to go with the single, Rita had all the positive things to say. She said, “Well, the mantra has been around for a long time. The song I got it sent to me in my email from RAYE, who’s a great friend of mine. She’s also another British pop sensation. And I love her. I’ve known her for a very long time as a songwriter and as an artist. And she came on tour with me back in 2017, sent me the song and I loved it. Sometimes, it’s sometimes it’s not that deep. My third record ‘You & I’ was very deep, emotional. It was about my like, personal life changing. I got married, and I really wanted to share my story with the world. Well, with this one. I was like, You know what, let’s just put out great things that feel good, you know, and the sun is out. I’m always about the sunshine. Everything with my music has been super positive.”

When the song was released, Rita said “The song is full of upbeat, summery vibes and is about seizing the moment romantically, and diving straight in with that special someone,” in a statement. “It was co-written by the amazing Raye, which feels like such a full circle moment, as I have so many amazing memories from when we were on the road together for the Phoenix tour,” she continued. “This video, we put heart, soul, blood, lashes into one of the most ambitious, challenging, creative shoots I’ve ever been part of it,” the singer previously shared on Instagram. “Thanks to every single person who brought this to life.”
