The status of billionaire is achieved by music artist Selena Gomez and she has recently appeared on the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This is the first time she got a place on the list with an estimate of around $1.3 billion.
This net worth proves that Gomez is currently one of the most successful women in the music industry. However, only 2% of her net worth has come from music. The wealth analysis shows that her high stakes in skin care and beauty brand Rare Beauty, acting career, streaming deals, and musical career altogether have helped her achieve this much success.
Although Gomez is quite popular for her music, she has not earned much like her friend Taylor Swift who can secure a bigger chunk for writing her own tracks. So, there is no double-earning for Gomez as she does not pen down her songs. Besides, Gomez is not popular for making a lot of music tours. The last tour by the ‘Who Says’ singer took place in 2016.
After going on a streak of 55 shows, the singer had to cancel her ‘Revival’ music tour due to her mental health struggles. At that time, the artist posted on social media, “As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” and further added, “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”
The singer-actor has been always quite vocal about her mental health issues and her fans love her. She shared her struggles and diagnosis of bipolar disorder in 2022 which was later on released as a documentary named ‘My Mind & Me.’
During an interview, the singer said, “There were a lot of people that cared about me more than I cared about myself that really wanted me to do things I wasn’t ready for. I had to hit my rock bottom and I had to do it at my time.” Assuring her fans, Gomez further added, “I’d like to think and hope that I’m in a better place now.”
Gomez has gained a significant amount of attention with her acting career which is now at its peak. Earlier this year, she received her first-ever Emmy nomination for her amazing performance in the last season of the series, Only Murders In The Building.
