The Lovers & Friends Festival in Las Vegas is one of the prime attractions for music lovers. However, this year’s festival got canceled due to the severe weather conditions. The organizers have announced the cancellation of the show with a heavy heart.
The Lovers & Friends Festival is a one-day festival that was all set to take place on Saturday, May 4 and the concertgoers have been eagerly waiting for it. The official lineup of the show includes Backstreet Boys, Usher, Janet Jackson, and many other legendary artists in the industry.
However, things went worse with the deteriorating weather conditions in Las Vegas which made the organizers agree on the decision of the cancellation. On Friday night, May 3, the organizers shared a message on social media that expressed their helplessness in this situation. There was a high wind warning shared by the National Weather Service and the safety of the concert-hoppers needed to be assured.
The organizers wrote in the message, “The National Weather Service has now issued a High Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60 mph.” They further added, “Following advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow’s Lovers & Friends Festival.”
It is evident that the organizers are truly apologetic for the situation but perhaps this is the best decision to ensure everyone’s safety and well-being. They further added, “This was an incredibly heartbreaking decision to make as we are aware that fans have traveled from all over the world to enjoy this incredible lineup of superstars and have been looking forward to this event for several months.” They also expressed, “We’ve worked hard to create an amazing event for you, and we are just as disappointed as you are.”
The organizers also assured that all the tickets will be refunded within 30 days. Fans are also currently heavy-hearted as the list of artists was quite dynamic and enthralling for many. Starting from Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, Usher to Nas, Alicia Keys, Gwen Stefani, and many others would have performed in the fest. It is more special for Usher as he was about the celebrate the 20th anniversary of his hit album project, ‘Confessions’.
