‘Shallow’ Singer Honors The Victims Of Las Vegas By Dedicating Her 2011 Hit ‘Born This Way’

The phenomenal singer, Lady Gaga captivated admiration and praise for paying an unforgettable tribute to the victims of the Las Vegas mass shooting of 2017.

The American singer-songwriter paid her tribute through her performance to the victims of the mass shooting that happened six years ago in that city. The ‘Poker Face’ singer who is performing on her ‘Jazz and Piano’ residency in the city, dedicated her ‘Born This Way’ which was a hit from 2011 to the victims. Her honoring performance was highly admired by the critics and the fans.

Gaga remarked, ‘Lady Gaga dedicates ‘I just want to remind everyone here what a resilient wonderful city this is. I want to dedicate this song to everyone we lost.’When Steven Paddock the professional gambler opened fire at the country music festival of Harvest 91 from his hotel room at the MGM Grand Hotel on October 1, 2017, 59 innocent lives lost their lives and over 500 got heavily injured. This incident is considered the most deadly mass shooting in the history of the US.

The academic award-winning singer garnered attention and praise for her tribute performance on Sunday night. She will put an end to her 12-date Summer/Fall residency on the 5th of October.

Moreover, the phenomenal musician and actress also paid tribute to her collaborator friend Tony Bennett, who passed away in July this year. She performed on ‘Fly Me to the Moon (In Other Words),’ she exclaimed her sorrow for losing her friend and how much she misses him. They both worked on ‘Cheek to Cheek’, a 2014 release, and ‘Love For Sale’, a 2021 release. The global artist said, ‘I’m sure you know he was a wonderful amazing performer. He played jazz for as long as he could, he was singing a week before he passed away’. Moreover said, ‘He was just the most optimistic person. He could always find the good in everything.’

‘Just Dance’ artist shared one of the favorite stories of her friend (Bennett), ‘He told me when he was a kid, his family didn’t have enough money for the holidays. He entered a raffle and he won a turkey. He was so happy, he brought the turkey home for his family, that’s Tony.’

The ‘Rain on Me’ artist additionally said, ‘He’ll never be gone,’ further added, ‘The truth is I didn’t know exactly what to say about Tony because this whole show was for Tony, everything. The opening number, the middle number, all the diamonds, all the musical instruments, all the conducting, all the improvisation was in his memory.’

Gaga wrapped up the performance series after some heart-touching stories, her advocacy for mental health, and tribute.
