Shania Twain Praises Taylor Swift For ‘Working Her Butt Off’

Taylor Swift will always have Shania Twain by her side. The country-pop legendary singer is all praise about Taylor in a new interview. Haute Living conducted its newest cover profile with the singer talking about passing the torch of country-pop music to the 14-time Grammy award winner Taylor Swift. She praised the global music icon for “working her butt off”. In this interview, Shania talked about accepting credit for the god-gifted talent of music that she was born with. “I wouldn’t say I’m proud of anything I’ve done. Pride is not a great word for me, because I don’t think you can take credit for creative gifts if you were born with them; you can only take credit for developing them. What I would say I’m proud of is that I had the courage to take risks, that I could be so hard-working and dedicated,” she comments.

In this way, she linked herself with Taylor Swift and continued to praise the ‘Shake It Off’ singer for her work ethic. “That girl is working her butt off. She is living an exhausting existence, but she’s dedicated and committed to herself, to her art, and her work. It isn’t even about ambition, though I’m sure that most people would call her ambitious,” Twain said. Then Shania went on to explain “She’s an extremely hard worker, and I’m sure she’s got giant goals. But it’s not all about ambition: it’s about passion and committing yourself to your passion. [Like Taylor], I was and am someone who does that, and that’s what really reaps rewards. So, I would say that I’m most proud of my perseverance and that I didn’t waste my talents.”

This is not the first time Twain has shown her support for Taylor Swift. Twain, who is going to be performing at the Legends’ slot at Glastonbury this year, has previously interacted with the ‘Karma’ singer. In 2022, the country-pop superstar congratulated Taylor Swift on social media when she broke Twain’s long-standing US chart record. At that time, the ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman!’ singer wrote on social media “Historical records are meant to be made and then broken. The baton is meant to be passed on to new generations. Unstoppable young female country artists are [flame emoji] inspite of the hurdles.” Other than this, she has been a long fan of Swift and her music. The pair also performed together at the 2019 American Music Awards. In a TikTok video in 2021, Taylor commented that the “That Don’t Impress Me Much” musician disproved the thought that “country girls can’t go pop”.

On the subject of paving the way, Twain commented, “It wasn’t like I intended on being a trailblazer or anything.” “I was just trying to be original, my authentic self, and to do it with conviction,” she continued. “I’m an expressive person, and I put that into my music. I was saying it with attitude and with confidence because I meant it. Yes, I see it as a great compliment when someone calls me a trailblazer, but it’s not like I set out to do so. I was just being myself, and I think that’s served me very well,” she further commented.
