Country singer and music artist Lee Greenwood told FOX & Friends this Thursday morning about the news of his replacement from the National Arts Council as announced by Biden’s Government.
Lee Greenwood is based out of the Nashville area where he owns a theatre. He went on record with the nationally acclaimed media outlet to say that back in 2008, he was appointed by then-president George W. Bush to a six-year term with the National Council in the Arts. From that time onwards, he has continued to serve across later presidents including Barack Obama and Donald Trump. He also said that he was intimidated by the news through an email.
Lee Greenwood went on record saying “You know, it’s a six-year appointment and I was appointed by George W. Bush 43. So I served under his term. Also, President Obama’s term. Of course, President Trump’s term. And then as you know he used my song “God Bless the USA,” which is unilateral for me. It’s meant for all people, not just for a particular political party. “He also added that the news came as a surprise to him, “So hearing now under the Biden administration and he’s cleaned house and finally he’s fired a patriot. I was quite shocked to tell you the truth. I didn’t get a phone call or letter. It was just an email.”
Lee Greenwood is a country musician and songwriter, who has been actively associated with the industry since 1962. Over the years, he has released numerous hit songs including ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’ that came out in 1984 and continued to be a part of one of America’s greatest patriotic tracks. His contribution to the scope of American-borne music is huge and people considered him as a cordial bridge between the political and the music scene in the country.
The latest news of his replacement left not just the artist but all his fans disappointed. Although has not been any statement passed from the administration, it looks like times are changing.
