Taylor Swift comes out of the blur with the announcement for her ninth studio album ‘Evermore’ on Thursday and releases an utterly whimsical, mystifying music video of the new track from her latest album ‘willow’. It was premiered at midnight on 11 December, making it a perfect Yuletide production to overwhelm with a cryptic experience. She dropped the music video along with the surprise event of posting the whole album. She takes the unworldly story of ‘Cardigan’ further by following the glowing string out of the wooden box. Unlike the bizarre consequences out of Pandora’s Box, she reunites with her soul mate through the magical instances.
Taylor starts to follow the string to enter an unreal world to find her man and finds his reflection in the water as the chorus goes stronger with lyrics, “Life was a willow and it bent right to your wind / Head on the pillow, I can feel you sneakin’ in / ‘Cause if you are a mythical thing / Like you were a trophy or a champion ring / But there was one prize I’d cheat to win.”
She wants to explore the strain of her last music video ‘Cardigan’ and enters the extraordinary world of ‘Evermore’. It’s a supernatural world she gets into when she dives into the Elysian lake. The unworldly hooks from the retro mandolin strums will take you to a dreamland. Dancing like a beautiful medieval colleen with a gypsy group, she discovers unreal events that take her back to her lost love. The rustic, old room is the enchanted portal that takes you to the world of fantasy where love is celebrated above anything.
The 31-year-old pop singer put in on Twitter, “To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” as she announced completing her ninth album on Thursday. She explained the reason why she chose to release the album ‘Evermore’ just after the release of Folklore. It was a “sister record” to her platinum hit album ‘Folklore’.
Swift took to Twitter to let the world know about her new brainchild saying, “life was a willow and it bent right to your wind. The #willowMusicVideo is out now!”
Taylor said, “In the past, I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released. There was something different from folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning.”
This morning she posted another tweet: “I have no idea what will come next. I have no idea about a lot of things these days and so I’ve clung to the one thing that keeps me connected to you all. That thing always has and always will be music. And may it continue, evermore. My new album evermore is out now.”
After the direction of ‘The Man’, she tested her skill by directing the music video of ‘willow’. The credit list at the end of the video shows that she has again collaborated with Aaron Dessner, Jack Antonoff, WB, and Justin Vernon.
