Actor Joe Alwyn is now officially a Grammy Award winner!
Taylor Swift had previously revealed that William Bowery, which is the name of her co-writer, was, in reality, a pseudo name for her boyfriend Joe Alwyn. The 30-year-old actor reportedly became a receiver of the Grammy trophy as a part of the team who had put up to his girlfriend Taylor Swift’s latest album of the year titled ‘Folklore’.
Joe Alwyn was under the pseudo name of William Bowery on Taylor’s eight studio albums and has co-written the songs ‘Betty’ and ‘Exile’. He has also co-produced the songs ‘My Tears’, ‘Betty’, ‘Exile’, ‘August’, ‘Illicit Affairs’, and ‘This Is Me Trying’.
The Swifties have most recently noticed that Joe’s name was added to the accolade on the Grammy Awards website. Taylor Swift’s award for the album of the year was shared along with producers Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner.
On March 14, at this year’s award show, Taylor who is 31, mentioned Joe Alwyn’s name during her acceptance speech and said that Joe is the first person who plays every single song that she writes and that she had the best time writing songs with him during the quarantine.
With Taylor’s record-breaking Grammy win, she became one of the first artists to win in the category three times.
Taylor revealed Bowlery’s true individuality during the Disney+ concert documentary named Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions, which was premiered in November. She had then said in the documentary that there have been a lot of discussions about William Bowlery and his identity because it’s not an existent person, she said.
Swift added that William Bowery is in real Joe. And Joe is the one who plays the piano beautifully and he’s the one who is always just playing and making things up in a creative manner.
However, fans had already suspected his involvement in the album when they recalled the photographs of Swift and Alwyn at New York’s Bowery Hotel and had discovered that the actor is a descendant of an English musician and composer named William Alwyn.
Later on, Taylor had opened up about the couple’s unexpected creative dynamic that they shared during an interview with Apple Music. Swift also added that it was a mere coincidence that they both started writing together, but in some way, it wasn’t the case because they always bonded over music and share the same musical tastes.
Taylor further added that it was a step that they would have never taken because why would they ever write a song together! It all seemed quite weird to her and she believed that they both shall hate the idea eventually because as of then they were stuck in quarantine and there was nothing else going on. The pair just intended to try and see how it all works out together.
However, Taylor added that she was entranced with his work and asked if they could keep writing together.
Joe has always been the person who shows Taylor new songs by artists and then they become her favorite songs, Taylor added.
Reportedly Alwyn also co-wrote Taylor’s ‘Champagne Problems’, ‘Coney Island’, and also the much-appreciated track on her ninth album named ‘Evermore’, which was dropped back in December.
Reports have it that Taylor Swift started dating the Boy Erased actor in 2016 and an anonymous source told PEOPLE that Taylor is truly happy in the relationship. It seems that Joe is her rock and their relationship is mature and wonderful, the source added.
