The Grammy Awards 2022 have been a great success as always, the evening was exceedingly enjoyable by the performances of Justin Bieber and BTS along with many more artists.
The 64th Grammy took place on the 3rd of April, 2022 at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, while the nomination for the show was done by the end of September last year. And formally the show was about to take place on 31st January. But due to COVID 19 omicron variant, the ceremony got delayed.
This is the first time that Grammy is held in Sin City. Hosted by Trevor Noah and distributed by the CBS network. And each year this award ceremony honors musicians with this prestigious award for their musical contribution since 1959.
Unlike the previous years, this year’s numbers of categories were 86 instead of 84. Jon Batiste won five awards from his eleven nominations including the Album of the Year, Best Music Video, and Best American Roots Performer. Olivia Rodrigo bagged three Grammys including the Best New Artist and Best Solo Performance.
Silk Sonic won the Song of the Year for the song ‘leave the Door Open’ along with Best R&B Performance. Doja Cat and SZA had the Best Pop Duo for ‘Kiss Me More’. Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for ‘Love for Sale’.
Foo Fighter, after meeting with the devastating demise of Taylor Hawkins, won in two categories of Best Rock Performance and Best Rock Song for the ‘Waiting on a War’ number. H.E.R. had the Best Traditional R&B Performance award for ‘Fight for Me’.
Kanye West, The Weekend, and Lil baby won the Best Melodic Rap Performance for the song ‘Hurricane’. Yet, Ye got another Grammy along with Jay-Z for ‘Jail’.
Arooj Aftab won the Best Global Music Performance for ‘Mohabbat’. And Falu won the Best Children’s Music Album of ‘A Colorful World’. And Summer of Souls won the Best Music Film section. Zelenskyy appeared through a prerecorded video, saying about the humanitarian crisis.
