The Driver Is Pleading Guilty As He Has Crashed Nicki Minaj’s Father

A driver has occurred in an accident in suburban New York and left the scene immediately. Later, It came to know that the person he hit was the father of the world-renowned rapper Nicki Minaj. Now the driver, named Charles Polevich is pleading guilty to going such inhuman activity.

The accident happened in February 2021, and it severely injured Robert Maraj as he walked along a road in Mineola.

At first, Polevich got out of the car but didn’t help the person and escaped the scene. Maraj, at the age of 64 died the next day at the hospital.

Judge Howard Sturim sentenced to Polevich he would get ‘no more than one year in jail’. Also, his license and community service have been banned. No other punishment has been given to the driver.

After the verdict, Carol Maraj said that she is ‘not happy’ with the decision. She also said that after watching Polevich in court she could only remember how badly her husband died in the hospital. She doesn’t think it is the right punishment for doing such a big crime.

The lawyer of Mr. Polevich said to the media, ‘Mr. Polevich is extremely remorseful for any role he may have played in Mr. Maraj’s death. There are no allegations of substance use or abuse as causative of his conduct and it is our belief that a medical heart issue contributed to Mr. Polevich’s conduct’.

Fitzpatrick, the police of Nassau Police Homicide Detective has said that ‘He got out of the car and he looked at the deceased, got into his car and made the conscious decision to leave. Instead of dialing 911, instead of calling an ambulance for the man, he went and went home and secreted his vehicle’.

In this difficult situation, Nicki Minaj has said that, ‘Tho I can’t really bring myself to discuss the passing of my father as yet; I can say it has been the most devastating loss of my life. I find myself wanting to call him all the time. More so now that he’s gone. Life is funny that way. May his soul rest in paradise. He was very loved & will be very missed’.
