The BBC has announced that it is scheduling for the Glastonbury festival and will stream the entire festival on its website. If you are not as lucky as DuaLipa and cannot take as many vacations as her to see your favorite music stars performing live, then the BBC is here for you. You can now enjoy two sets from England’s Glastonbury Festival in the comfort of your home, no matter where you stay. The live coverage by the broadcaster will start on Wednesday, 26th June. This is when fans from all over the country will gather around in the Somerset fields to watch hundreds of artists perform live. The music festival will be on for three days where on Friday DaulaLipa will be making her debut as Glastonbury headliner. Saturday’s set will be headlined by the pop-rock band Coldplay and SZA will be closing the festival with her headlining set on Sunday.
Shania Twain, the eminent country pop singer and global icon will be taking on the Legends Slot at the Glastonbury festival. Here she will perform a set of some of the career-defining hit singles including songs like ‘Man! I Feel Like a Woman’ and ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much’. BBC’s coverage will be available across platforms like BBC Sounds, iPlayer, Television, radio, and online. Jo Whiley will present Twain’s debut Glastonbury performance on the stage. The coverage will also be available on the non-stop Classic Glastonbury channel, where it will be streaming 24 hours a day until Sunday 30 June. That is not all, the channel will also feature some of the most memorable and cherished Glastonbury performances of all time with their back-to-back footage. This will also include last year’s farewell set from legendary Elton John.
The BBC will also have a Glastonbury Channel, completely dedicated to the festival that will run on iPlayer from midday on Friday (28 June) through to Sunday evening, the last day of the festival. This channel from the BBC will host a continuous yet especially curated stream of live moments, behind-the-scenes clips, and interviews. The channel’s name is Glastonbury Channel II, which the BBC introduced brand new to the festival in 2024. Here the viewers can catch up on everything that is going on in the ground, along with the most hyped and highlighted performances from the day. The broadcaster will share the live footage and stream it from the five major stages on the fields. These are Pyramid Stage, Other Stage, Park Stage, West Holts and Woodsies. British Sign Language will also be used while streaming from the Pyramid Stage throughout the entire weekend. All of this coverage and footage is available for regular users as they search “Glastonbury” on BBC iPlayer.
