Who is BTS? – “That is The Question,” Alka Yagnik Asked Her Daughter

Last year, in 2022 YouTube announced Alka Yagnik as the most streamed global artist, surpassing BTS, Blackpink, and Bad Bunny. Recently, the Indian melody queen is unaware of one of the most popular K-pop music groups BTS in an Interview with Radio Nasha. Just a few months back she was announced as the most-streamed artist with an astounding 15.3 billion streams. She exceeds the positions of BTS, Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift, and also The Weeknd. And with this, she also achieved a new Guinness World record. Hence the playback singer remained indifferent towards her new achievements as she was unable to realize the magnitude of this record.

In a recent interview with Radio Nasha, Alka Yagnik shared a small interaction she had with her daughter Syesha. And she is the one who explained global icons and K-pop artists and what is meant by beating them. She said, “I asked Syesha, ‘Who is BTS?’” She also revealed that after knowing her ignorance her daughter laughed out loud. “She was rolling on the phone. She said ‘Mom you are just too much’.” Afterward, Syesha broke down her achievements, but she remained nonchalant after that as well. And her attitude left her daughter in shock and she repeatedly asked why she isn’t getting excited about it.

Further in the interview, she said, she is not willing to understand the number and she doesn’t care about it. Everything she wants to be loved by her listeners and get appreciated by them. Alka said ‘more and fewer streams’ do not matter, as long as people are happy while listening to her numbers she will feel succeeded. She said, “They’re happy, they’re loving me, they’re liking me, and they’ve accepted me with open arms for so many years. For me, that’s in itself a big thing.” Along with it, she added that she might be on top today but she might not have the same position tomorrow. But the love shares with her fans are important to her most.

In a conclusion, she said she truly is feeling grateful and blessed about this achievement. “I really feel blessed” This was her concluding statement of the interview. Previously, in 2021 and 2022 she got the maximum number of streams on YouTube with 17.7 billion and 16.6 billion streams, respectively.
