Anand Bakshi’s classic music composition is finding a new representation with Badshah’s latest makeover of the track ‘Morni’. Ila Arun and Lata Mangeshkar made this fantastic song which was quite a hit earlier and now it has found itself in a new version. Sharvi Yadav’s spectacular performance makes the track even catchier and powerful. This collaboration project is not only bringing the old hit back but also offering a new taste of folk fusion that can captivate everyone. Hiten did a great job with the music that sounds like a fine blend of traditional and modern digital music.
Singer-songwriter Sharvi Yadav has shared her wonderful experience of working with Badshah who also suggested the outfit idea for the song. She said, “Working with Badshah is always thrilling. He has a unique vision and an incredible approach to bringing ideas to life”. His process is so hands-on and detailed, that it’s inspiring to see how much he cares about every element of the project. For this song, I got a real sense of the immense thought that goes into everything, from the music to the visuals.” The visuals deserve a special mention with an animated Hyena in the Rajasthani terrain which goes with the mood of the track. Badshah plays the role of the alpha with his men with guns in jeeps and there’s potential does of testosterone that makes fans happy. There are a lot of shoots and blasts that look engaging with the groove of digital beats.
Badshah and his lyrical balance showed a bit of a traditional accent which sounded more organic and the music video made his presence even better. ‘Morni Baga Ma Bole’ is an old Bollywood hit where Sridevi and Anil Kapoor offered fun chemistry onscreen. With this new music video, it is evident that old soundtracks are never getting old but only coming back with new shapes and beats. While this might not be just a remix, it offers a new taste by amalgamating hip-hop flavors with traditional Rajasthani folk. The music video is shot in a desert village and the vibrant raw energy can be felt through the performers as well. Talking about the release, Badshah said, “I get scared before every song” but seems like a successful project as the song is at #4 on Trending for Music on YouTube.
