Although her fans had thought that her success from her previous creations like ‘Kissing Frogs’ which soared to number 52 on Hypeddit’s Top 100 Country Chart and the groovy anthem for girl’s night out, ‘Cinderella’ which received amazing reviews from music curators would be hard to beat but the Country music sensation has proved everyone wrong. Through her charismatic voice and impeccable musical instruments to accompany her beautiful voice, the singer has proven to be someone to look out for in this genre.
The song ‘Wonder Woman’ is a story based in a very small town in East Texas in the middle of a small farm. The protagonist of the story is a young girl who has nothing but dreams on her mind. In the small town, she used to love spending time with herself. Just like any young child, she was excited about what the future holds and the magical world she had yet to explore. Her idol was the iconic superhuman Wonder Woman which she had seen on TV and the girl used to imagine being that Wonder Woman with a paper crown on her head and bath towel wrapped around her neck like a cape. But with time the young girl’s perspective changed and her magical thoughts slowly turned gray. From fighting imaginary villains on a small farm to fighting her inner demons, the young girl grew up.
The girl D’Lee talks about is her childhood self and the song is her way of honoring her inner child who has not lost the magical perspective yet and still dreams of changing the world one step at a time. I would recommend this song a hundred times because of the relatability it holds. The country music sensation has written this song not only as a way of spreading love, happiness, and joy in this community but also to remind her listeners to never let that inner child grow, always to keep the curiosity and the mind full of dreams like their childhood days.
