Time traveling cowboys Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus have arrived with the official video of “Old Town Road” remix.

The video starts way back in 1889, with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus on horseback with a bag of cash on the old town road. And their escape ultimately transports them to Old town road of 2019. And, this is where the fun begins.

The hip hop track literally takes me to the world around old town road. And its fusion with country music hits me with a great and long lasting impact. This is certainly the track that will be on top of my playlist to be played on loop. The track is something that just doesn’t let me stand idly and attracts me towards the dance floor, and I am quite certain that same is the case for the audiences who have listened to the track. The cowboy-themed lyrics are set perfectly with the soundscape of the music. And Lil Nas X has done an awesome job with his performance.

As far as the remix goes it is not quite remixed. The new thing that I got to experience in the song is the voice of Billy Ray Cyrus at the end. It is not too much different from the actual song.  But Billy’s inclusion in the song makes it a more fun song. Not to forget the special appearances from Diplo, Rico Nasty, Haha Davis, Jozzy, Vince Staples and Young Kio that brightened up the song for me.

The track was on top for six weeks on the Billboard Hot 100. It became an instant viral on streaming app TikTok and raised many eyebrows when it was removed from the country charts, as according to Billboard the song did not characterize country music.

Reacting to the controversy, the track is of hip hop genre but has quite a few country elements in it. So according to me, it is country enough to be on the chart of country songs.
